Typical Appliance Coating Line
A modern appliance coating line is fully automated with speeds of 3-8 meters per minute:
- Loading: Parts hung on overhead conveyor (power & free system)
- Pretreatment: 5-7 stage spray tunnel (degrease, rinse, phosphate, rinse, passivate)
- Dry-off oven: Remove moisture at 120-140°C
- Powder application: Automatic guns on reciprocators, 8-16 guns per side
- Curing oven: Tunnel oven, 180-200°C, 12-20 minutes at temperature
- Cooling zone: Controlled cool-down before handling
- Inspection & unloading: Quality check, film thickness, gloss measurement
